Jaret Wright dominated striking out 10 Dominican batters and Chase Utley
ripped 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at the ballpark as the seemingly unstoppable
California Gangsta Luv beat the hopeless Dominican Republicans by the count
of 9 to 3.
Utley made sure the California fans enjoyed themselves. He blasted a solo
shot in the 5th inning and blasted a two-run home run (his 2nd of the season)
in the 8th inning. Dominican was out-hit by California, 12 hits to 6.
The winning pitcher was Wright(12-5) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Danys
Baez was credited with his 13th save. Jeremy Bonderman(6-18) ended up with
the loss.
Wright was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there.
The fans gave me a lot of support as did my teammates. We got the victory
and I'll sure take 10 strikeouts anytime!'
